I offer two kinds of recorded, one-on-one conversations that are unhurried, unguarded, and contractually confidential. Both draw on the same skills I've developed as a journalist: listening closely, asking questions, and treating your perspective with care.

Personal & Family History Narratives

This service is for individuals and families who want to create a lasting oral history record of a life, a lineage, or a chapter that deserves to be documented. Interviews are held over phone or video, or in person in New York.

I'm invested in making this service accessible. This isn’t an act of charity, but one of self-enrichment; I enjoy meeting people with a variety of experiences and personalities. Pricing is flexible and determined by scope; reach out and we can talk.

Reflection Sessions

This is a one-on-one conversation, two to four hours in length, recorded and transcribed for your benefit. It’s not therapy and it isn't an oral history. It's closer to a reflection event — a dedicated time to think out loud on topics and themes of your choosing with someone outside your normal context, free of relational baggage. I listen like I'm trying to write a story from what you're saying, and I need more information at every turn. I'll ask probing big-picture questions and weird little detail questions. Afterward, you'll receive a recording and transcript of our conversation, along with my notes. Sessions are held over the phone or in person in New York.
